SkillShare Network of Boulder County (SkillShare) is a TimeBank. We share our time, skills, and resources -- just as our grandparents once did -- within a cooperative system in which members can earn and bank TimeDollars for every hour of service that they give to someone else. SkillShare is part of an international TimeBanking movement that is creating new ways of sharing resources based on cooperation and mutual aid. These TimeBanks recognize the importance of every individual, create systems so that everyone benefits, and everyone's skills are equally valued. SkillShare is a member of TimeBanks USA. This new kind of currency (TimeDollars) is based on time not cash and creates positive benefits for individuals, families, and organizations by giving them access to needed services and providing opportunities for giving back. This "win-win" is the foundation for positive community building. Imagine a society built on service to others that is reciprocated over and over again!

Slow Food Boulder

Slow Food is an idea, a way of living and a way of eating. It is a global, grassroots movement with thousands of members around the world that links the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment. Slow Food USA seeks to create dramatic and lasting change in the food system. We reconnect Americans with the people, traditions, plants, animals, fertile soils and waters that produce our food. We seek to inspire a transformation in food policy, production practices and market forces so that they ensure equity, sustainability and pleasure in the food we eat. Everyone with taste buds is welcome to join. This is not another gourmet food club. It is a place for people with a passion for safeguarding local farms, food traditions, and artisan foods to gather and build culture and community. We invite anyone who wants to get involved, be educated, and rediscover pleasure in everyday life by slowing down and learning to appreciate the convivial traditions of the table.
